Pi Kappa Alpha's brotherhood is founded first and foremost on the basis of building stronger, more permanent friendships while striving to benefit the community-at-large.  The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha endeavor to embody the Fraternity's pillars of Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, Gentlemen.  Our Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at Columbia University continually strives to excel in each of these categories.  Below are some examples of our Chapter's track record in achieving these goals:

  • Scholars: The Iota Lambda Chapter holds the highest Chapter GPA of the International Fraternity's 220+ chapters; multiple members of Columbia University's faculty are alumni of the Chapter
  • Leaders: The Chapter includes leaders of several student organizations and club teams; our alumni include managing partners at notable investment banks, project managers at tech companies and consulting firms, and other leaders of industry (see The Upshot)
  • Athletes: The current brotherhood of the Chapter includes athletes on club and intramural teams; the Chapter's alumni include an NBA G League scout and former coach, a corporate professional for the National Hockey League, and a D1 football transfer
  • Gentlemen:  The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha partner with several organizations throughout the year to raise awareness and money on behalf of several non-profits, including Taylor Trudeau Cycle for Life, Relay for Life, The Arthritis Foundation (via AOII), Prevent Child Abuse America (via SDT), Service for Sight (via DG), and more; furthermore, the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha collectively log over 500 hours of community service

The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha share their college experiences through a variety of Chapter events, including downtown excursions, formal events, mixers with sororities, career workshops with alumni, and much more.
